Dental flosses and tapes are an essential tool for a perfect finish in your dental cleaning.

Both the silk (or dental floss) and the tape remove dental plaque or biofilm from the interdental spaces and from the tooth itself. Dental plaque is not visible to the naked eye, but it is there. It is a conglomeration of bacteria and waste substances, which if not eliminated can cause gingivitis or other dental diseases.

The difference between tape and dental floss is that the former is a rectangle, so it covers much more surface in its path. Silk is a thread made up of several strands.

Wax is often added to dental floss or tape to help it slide between teeth.
