Food supplements called fat burners and drainers help to lose weight, in a healthy lifestyle.

There are two types of fat burners: those that eliminate fat from the diet, such as XLS medical, or those that enhance the body's natural thermogenesis, activating fat burning to maintain body temperature.

The latter are called "thermogenic" and the most common are green coffee, caffeine, green tea or capsaicin.

Fat burners include food supplements that eliminate or prevent the absorption of part of the carbohydrates in the diet.

Draining products try to eliminate excess fluid that can accumulate in the body due to medications, hormones, lack of exercise or poor diet.

Most of these products are made from plant extracts with draining properties such as horsetail, orthosiphon, camilina, fennel or pineapple.
